He is the one and only god. He is the only one worthy of being worshiped. Everything else is only creation and has no godly ability or attribute. Allah is the best name of Allah because it includes all of His names.
Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. (Baqarah 2:255)
Al-Wahid (The Unique)
Al-Ahad (The one)
He is one. Only He can be worshiped, and only He is worthy of worship. It is not acceptable to worship anyone other than Him. He is perfect in all of His qualities, and nothing can share in his divine qualities/attributes. He is completely unique.
O [my] two companions of prison, are separate lords better or Allah, the One, the Prevailing? (Yusuf 12:39)
Say, “He is Allah, [who is] One (Al-Ikhlas 112:1)
Al-Aleem (The All Knowing)
Al-Khabir (The All Aware)
Allah knows everything that is, that was, that will be, that could be, and that could never be. He knows what is visible and what is hidden. He knows completely everything about everything. How many atoms, electrons, quartz are in every tree leaf, in every skin cell, in every organism and more. There is nothing that Allah does not know.
Indeed, Allah [alone] has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted. (Luqman 31:34)
O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.
Ar-Rahman (The Entirely Merciful)
Ar-Raheem (The Especially Merciful)
Allah’s mercy is so vast. He provides us with everything we have. Not only wealth, clothes, homes, and food. But even our hearing, our seeing, our minds, our hearts, our life, and our guidance. Allah gives His mercy to all of His creation. We are so blessed to exist and blessed to be given the opportunity to serve the One who is most worthy of being served. Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem.
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Al-Ali (The Most High)
He is the highest. Nothing is above Allah. He is above his creation, and not part of his creation. To Him is the highness in all aspects. Highness in strength, power, in being, in worship, and more.
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great. (Ash-Shura 42:4)
These are just a few of Allah’s most beautiful and wonderful names. As Muslims we believe only He is worthy of these names and attributes. No other human or creature of creation can have these names or attributes. These names help us understand who we are worshiping, and why we are worshiping Him.
