10 Reasons Why Islam is the True Religion

In the Name of Allah (the one and only true God) the Entirely Merciful the Especially Merciful.

Many people follow religions around the world preaching the belief in a Creator of everything. Considering there are contradictions between these religions they can’t all be true. Some say there’s 1 God, others say there’s thousands, or even no God. Some say there’s paradise and hell, while others say there isn’t. Some say there is reincarnation and no resurrection and others say the opposite and so on. All religions cannot be true, which means either they’re all wrong, or only 1 is right. Muslims argue that Islam is the only correct religion. Allah (the one and only true God) says in the Quran:

إِنَّ الدِّينَ عِندَ اللَّـهِ الْإِسْلَامُ
Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam.

Quran [3:19]

Many people around the world don’t believe in God because of the lack of evidence. Some, when they are asked what kind of evidence would they like will say a miracle in front of their face. Which is a subjective experience and would actually be the worst type of evidence as everyone would have to have the same subjective experience as well. If only one person had a miracle appear before them, then that miracle would be evidence only for that one person. For everyone else the person was deluded, hallucinating, drunk and so on. It’s not proof. Also the person could convince themselves that it was a dream or imagined, and when the miracle never appears again they may soon forget it entirely.

And even if We had sent down to them the angels [with the message] and the dead spoke to them [of it] and We gathered together every [created] thing in front of them, they would not believe unless Allah should will. But most of them, [of that], are ignorant.

Quran [6:111]

But if asked what sort of evidence a person would require to believe in evolution, dark matter, or some other scientific belief, the answer wouldn’t be a miracle. The answer wouldn’t even be to see the evidence with their own eyes. They are satisfied with being told that it’s true by trusted people (scientists) and that’s enough for them. They trust the scientific process, and they trust the peer reviewed journals and the conclusions of these men. Even while knowing (or perhaps they don’t know) that science changes all the times and has had many paradigm shifts in the past.

Here’s a good and entertaining video on the subject of the nature of science:

So to prove that veracity of Islam rather than showing people subjective miracles, instead I am presenting 10 proofs/evidence found in Islam for why Islam is the true religion. Meaning that there is one God who revealed his final message to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him).

My evidence will be coming from the Quran (the holy scripture of the Muslims), and the saheeh hadith (authentic actions and sayings of the Prophet PBUH). These proofs are to be taken together, and not to be singled out. Meaning there may be some proofs that you feel are weaker than others, but when considering all the proofs together it backs up my claim that Islam is the true religion of God.

#1 The Quran Claims to be The Word of God

إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’an that you might understand.

Quran [12:2]

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّـهِ الَّذِي أَنزَلَ عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ الْكِتَابَ وَلَمْ يَجْعَل لَّهُ عِوَجًا ۜ
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, who has sent down upon His Servant the Book and has not made therein any deviance.

Quran [18:1]

The Quran, the holy book of the Muslims, claims to be the direct word of Allah (God) revealed in the Arabic language to an unlettered (he couldn’t read or write) Prophet. It also claims to have no errors in it. It is a big claim for sure, but it makes it easy to disprove. All the reader has to do is find one error in it, to prove that Islam itself is false. Rather having to disprove everything just disproving one thing simplifies the matter.

Then do they not reflect upon the Qur’an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction.

Quran [4:82]

Why this is a powerful proof is because no person could make this claim about any book. That this book is so perfect, it has no errors in it. No history book and no science book could ever make that claim. Science is ever changing, and history is based on archaeological findings, so our current understandings of the past are likely to change in the future (and has already countless times).

So if this proof stands and no error is found in the book, the most likely conclusion is that it’s sent from God, as the book itself says it is.

ذَٰلِكَ الْكِتَابُ لَا رَيْبَ ۛ فِيهِ ۛ هُدًى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah

Quran [2:2]

#2 The Preservation of The Quran

The preservation of the book. Allah says in the Quran:

 إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ
“Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur’an and indeed, We will be its guardian.”

Quran [15:9]

Although the book was revealed over 1,400 years ago it has been perfectly preserved, which itself is surprising. More than that, is the claim that it would be preserved. Remember this is before the printing press, and at this time period most people in the world couldn’t read or write. To make a claim that your book would be preserved until the end of the world is a very big claim to make.

There are many religions that pop up and make claims, but most of them are soon destroyed and gone. If Islam was a false religion made by a false Prophet, wouldn’t it be more likely to have been destroyed and lost rather than be preserved. Consider the other major religions of the world, Christianity, Hinduism and Buddhism. These religions have their own ancient texts. Have they been preserved as the Quran has been? Do these religions have millions of people, some as young as 8 years old, who have memorized the whole book? I’ll let you the reader do your own research and find out.

Watch the video below:

#3 The Formation of the Embryo

The Quran mentions in detail the formation of the human embryo. Something that cannot be seen except with an electronic microscope. How could anyone 1400 years ago know this?

#4 Millions of people have memorized it

Allah says in the Quran:

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
And We have certainly made the Qur’an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?

Quran [54:17]

This is an easy to understand miracle. The Quran consists of over 600 pages. Over 77 thousand words. And yet millions around the world have memorized the whole Quran from cover to cover and can recite it to you with hardly a mistake. There are literal Quran competitions happening around the world all the time, where they test the recitation, and memorization of children. Some as young as 6 and 7.

Is there any other book in the world where millions have memorized it in its entirety? How many people have memorized the entire bible cover to cover? And what’s signficant here is that in the Quran 1400 years ago the verse was revealed that it was easy to remember the Quran. And look thousands of years later millions have memorized it. And not only have they memorized it but most of them did so in a language they don’t even know. Can you imagine memorizing a 600 page Japanese book when you don’t know Japanese? Or Chinese? Russian and so on? To even bother doing it, is amazing, and to succeed is even more amazing.

#5 Haman Mentioned by Name

Before explaining who Haman is and why his name and status is important, first we must have a brief understanding of what hieroglyphics are. Hieroglyphics were the ancient writing script of the Egyptians. Scientists believed it started in the 32 Century BC (3,200 BC, aka 3,800 years before the Prophet). By the 5th century AD knowledge of hieroglyphic writing was lost, until the 1820s when it was deciphered using the Rosetta Stone.

Watch this video to learn more about the Rosetta Stone and it’s importance in deciphering the hieroglyphics.

So again why is Haman important? Haman is important because he is mentioned in the Quran as essentially being Pharaoh’s architect or head of construction. The Quran says:

And Pharaoh said, “O eminent ones, I have not known you to have a god other than me. Then ignite for me, O Haman, [a fire] upon the clay and make for me a tower that I may look at the God of Moses. And indeed, I do think he is among the liars.”

Quran [28:38]

Haman is being commanded by Pharaoh to build a tall tower. Prior to unlocking the hieroglyphics skeptics of the Quran, assuming the Prophet copied the Quran from the Bible, said this was a copying error because Haman was mentioned in the Bible as an assistant of a Persian King after the time of Moses, not head of construction of Pharaoh at the time of Moses. But with the deconstruction of the hieroglyphics Egyptologists found Haman working in Egypt as “overseer of the stone Masons.” How could anyone 1400 hundred years ago, let alone an unlettered man, know this?

#6 The Challenge to Produce One Like it

During the Prophet Muhammad PBUH time the Arabs were known for their Poetry. They would essentially have poetry battles, where they would compete to say the best lines of poetry. If you wanted people to listen to you or respect you, one way was to be a great poet.

When the Prophet PBUH made a claim to prophecy the Arabs did not like it. For most of his Prophetic life, the Prophet PBUH was seen as the enemy to the Arabs in general. They didn’t like what he had to say because it meant changing most of their traditions, and their society. At first they ignored him, then they asked him to stop, they tried making deals with him, they bullied him, they killed his companions, they physical harmed him, tried to kill him, and went to war against him.

Essentially his Prophethood brought them great difficulty, but they were given a way of disproving the Prophet without resorting to violence. The Quran states:

Say, “If mankind and the jinn gathered in order to produce the like of this Qur’an, they could not produce the like of it, even if they were to each other assistants.”

Quran [17:88]

Then Allah made it simpler for them. Rather than producing a whole Quran, simply make 10 chapters like it.

Or do they say, “He invented it”? Say, “Then bring ten surahs [chapters] like it that have been invented and call upon [for assistance] whomever you can besides Allah, if you should be truthful.”

Quran [11:13]

Then finally Allah makes the challenge even simpler, produce 1 chapter like it. The shortest chapter in the Quran is only 3 sentences.

And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah [chapter] the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful.

Quran [2:23]

The Arabs of that time were not able to meet this challenge, and until now nobody has met this challenge. There are many ways to look at the challenge. One way is the wording itself. Produce a Quran with similar wording and meaning, flow, and style.

Another is the content. The content which includes observational proofs, historical proofs, guidance, information about the unseen (angels, the day of judgment, God), logical proofs, and more.

Yet another is the impact of the Quran. Produce a book with the same impact of the Quran. A book that would lead people across the world of different backgrounds to memorize the text and base their lives upon it. A text that would result in BILLIONS of people accepting it as the word of God. So get your helpers and spend as much time as you need, to produce a book of similar effect.

#7 Observational Proofs

The Quran speaks of many things beyond theology. It also speaks of things we can observe, or things we should research to learn more about. One thing to consider when going through some of these is the lack of error in them although it is from 1400 years ago. Many people and societies in ancient times and even now, had strange (to us) ideas of the universe, and life. For example scientists used to think that life could come from non-life all the time, or that the Universe was static (not growing), or that the Earth was flat. Here’s a list of theories that have been superseded by future theories: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superseded_theories_in_science#Biology

So to be able to have an ancient text that confidently states facts about our world and the universe while the people at that time (7th century) lacked the tools to observe such phenomena is beyond amazing. For example Allah says in the Quran:

 أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ ۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?

Quran [21:30]

Here Allah states that He made every living thing from water. The last thing an inhabitant of the desert 1400 years ago would have thought, is that all life comes from water. Another observational fact stated is:

وَجَعَلْنَا السَّمَاءَ سَقْفًا مَّحْفُوظًا ۖ وَهُمْ عَنْ آيَاتِهَا مُعْرِضُونَ
And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away.

Quran [21:32]

As we know today the sky is made up of many layers of gases. These gases form a thin protective blanket which we call the atmosphere. The atmosphere protects us from the Sun’s rays, meteors, and keeps the oxygen and water molecules from escaping into space. We certainly know this now, but this was definitely not something known 1400 years ago let alone by unlettered man in the Arabian desert.

 أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ مِهَادًا ﴿٦﴾ وَالْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا
Have We not made the earth a resting place? (6) And the mountains as stakes?

Quran [78: 6-7]

Again we know today that the mountains much like icebergs have a section that is visible above ground, but also a large section below ground as well.

The Quran indicates that mountains have deep roots by using the word stakes to describe them. In fact, mountains do have deep roots, and the word stakes is an accurate description for them. A book titled ‘Earth’ by Geophysicist Frank Press explains that mountains are like stakes, and are buried deep under the surface of the Earth. Mount Everest, the height of which is approximately 9 km above ground, has a root deeper than 125 km.

The fact that mountains have deep ‘stake’ like roots was not known until after the development of the theory of plate tectonics in the beginning of the 20th century.

Keep in mind I called these observational proofs and not scientific proofs for a reason. Science is ever changing and developing. Science is not the source of ultimate truth. Supposed scientific facts do develop with time and may even be disproven in the future. But these proofs in the Quran are consistent with our 21st century observable reality and yet it was revealed in the 7th century to sheep herding Arabs. Could they have written it, or was it revealed from Allah the all mighty?

#8 Not Only a Religion, But a Way of Life

Islam as a way of life which is what we would expect from a book that says it’s guidance for the human being. religious guidance, economic guidance, social guidance and so on. Guidance for every aspect of human existence. from how to sleep, to cleaning oneself in the bathroom, how to walk, how to talk, how to deal with the opposite gender, how to deal with parents, old people, and young people, how to deal in transactions, giving in charity, how to eat, how to drink, on and on and on. A whole comprehensive book deserves to be written about the basic guidance the Quran and Sunnah have given for all aspects of our lives.

#9 Quranic Proof for God

In the Quran it states the only 3 possibilities in regards to the creation of Man. This argument can be used for the creation of the universe as well.

Were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]? (35) Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain.

Quran [52:35-46]

Either man always existed, brought itself into existence, or was brought into existence. Obviously we didn’t always exist. Whether you believe man evolved from an ape (Muslims don’t believe this), or man was created by God directly, either way man didn’t always exist.

Did man create himself? Can something which doesn’t exist be capable of bringing itself into existence? Of course not. This is nonsensical.

This leaves the only viable option. Man had a creator. What many atheists then ask is, who created the Creator? This is also nonsensical because it leads to infinite regress. Infinite regress simply means if action A requires action B, and action B requires action C and so on into infinity, then action A can never happen. At some point there had to be an uncaused cause. This fits with the Islamic belief that Allah is uncreated. Allah is in need of nothing. The Creator is alone without any partners.

This simple but robust proof for God was revealed in the 7th century and stumps 21st century atheists and will continue to do so until the end of time.

#10 Prophecies of The Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him)

The source of divine information for Muslims isn’t just the Quran as many Non-Muslims may think. Rather we have the Quran and the hadith (sunnah). Hadith are sayings, doings, and approvals of the Prophet PBUH. Much like how the Quran has been preserved the hadith have been preserved in a similar manner. This means the prophecies of the Prophet PBUH are found in hadith. Please watch the short video below to learn more about that process, insha Allah (God willing).

For those who prefer reading, this is an article about the compilation of hadith: https://islamqa.info/en/answers/239540/the-science-of-hadith-is-based-on-reason-and-shari-guidelines

This is only a short list of the many prophecies of the Prophet PBUH.

Bedouin Arabs would compete in the building of tall buildings

This is the end of a long hadith, where the Messenger of Allah PBUH was questioned by a man no one knew.

He [the man] asked: “When will the Hour be?’ He [the Prophet] said: ‘The one who is being asked about it does not know more than the one who is asking.’ He [the man] asked: ‘Then what are its signs?’ he [the prophet] said: ‘When the slave woman gives birth to her mistress’ ‘and when you see barefoot, naked, destitute shepherds competing in constructing tall buildings.’

sunan ibn majah graded sahih by Darussalaam

The barefooted Bedouins competing in building tall buildings. Today we find in the Arabian Peninsula, the Arabs who used to be impoverished herders of camels and sheep, are competing in building the tallest buildings. The tallest building in the world is the Burj Khalifa in the United Arab Emirates.

Abu Lahab never becoming a Muslim

There is a chapter in the Quran revealed early on in the Prophet’s mission. In this chapter it states that Abu Lahab, a member of the Quraysh tribe living in Makkah where the Prophet started preaching Islam, would go to hell. Essentially for Abu Lahab to go to hell, from the Islamic perspective, would be for him to refuse Islam even after the clear proofs came to him. Abu Lahab did in fact die a disbeliever, and if he wished to disprove Islam, all he had to do was become a Muslim. Yet he never did and thus this prophecy came true.

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. (1) His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained. (2) He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame (3) And his wife [as well] – the carrier of firewood. (4) Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. (5)

Quran: 111

People will be clothed yet naked

The Prophet PBUH said:

Two are the types of the denizens of Hell whom I did not see: people having flogs like the tails of the ox with them and they would be beating people, and the women who would be dressed but appear to be naked, who would be inclined (to evil) and make their husbands incline towards it. Their heads would be like the humps of the bukht camel inclined to one side. They will not enter Paradise and they would not smell its odour whereas its odour would be smelt from such and such distance.

sahih Muslim

This is a prophecy that astounds the minds especially for those living in the modern era. It’s only recently in the last decade where we see people walking the streets dressed in leotards/leggings and tight shirts that reveal the whole body of the woman. So they are as the Prophet PBUH said, clothed yet are naked (everything can be seen).

Prophecy of Conquests

Jābir b. ‘Abdillāh (rA) reports that while digging the trench outside Madinah to repel an approaching army, a massive boulder obstructed them that no ax would break. With time running out, and with people’s fears and hunger eating away at them, the Prophet ﷺ walked over and picked up the ax. He said, Bismillah (In God’s name),” and hammered the boulder, reducing a chunk of it to rubble. He said, “Allāhu Akbar (God is Great)! I have been given the keys to Shām; I can see its red palaces at this very moment.” Then he shattered another chunk and said, Allāhu Akbar (God is Great)! I have been given the keys to Persia; I can see Madain’s white palace.” Then he shattered the last chunk and said, Allāhu Akbar (God is Great)! I have been given the keys to Yemen. By Allah, I can see the Gates of Sana‘a at this very moment from here.”

Collected by Aḥmad and an-Nasā’i graded Hasan

What’s amazing about this prophecy is that it was made when huge armies were approaching the Muslims in Medina. Any reasonable person would have assumed they would definitely be crushed and yet despite that the Prophet prophesized massive conquests.

The Middle East once was green and will be green again

The Prophet PBUH said:

“The Hour will not begin until the land of the Arabs once again becomes meadows and rivers.

Muslim

Something to keep in mind is that the Prophet said “once again” meaning it once was green, and it will become green again. This is astounding as how would any Arab know that the Arabian peninsula was ever green. How would they know that it would be green again. The fact that it’s historically true and is becoming green right now is an astounding prophecy to say the least.

The widespread of usury/interest

The Prophet PBUH said:

“A time will come over the people when they will consume ribā [usury/interest].” They asked him, “All of them?” He said, “Whoever does not consume it will [still] be reached by its dust.”

Ahmad

This is pretty self explanatory and again another amazing prophecy. The whole world is indeed controlled by banks which are all involved in interest. How do we buy cars, houses, schooling and so on? It’s all on interest. Car insurance, housing insurance, life insurance. All on interest. Only a select few of us avoid it directly, and an even smaller minority avoid it completely. The money itself is based on debt.

Conclusion

There are many more proofs for Islam. This is just a short list of the ones I thought would be beneficial to you all. It’s very helpful and useful to have these proofs, so that you can be assured that Islam is indeed the truth. There are many people out there who are in need of guidance, and Islam is that guidance. But if we are unable to articulate it to them, then we are doing a disservice. And for our children, many of which are growing up in secular countries, it is important to equip them with the proofs of Islam, so that they can strengthen their faith.

Truly for those who are already Muslim simply reading the Quran is enough proof. We know there is nothing like it, that it is clearly the unchanged word of Allah. But for those who are scared or shy to read the Quran directly themselves, these proofs are useful to challenge them to consider the book of Allah.

May Allah accept my effort. Any errors I have made, are attributed to me alone, and none to the Creator. I would advise anyone who is searching for the truth of their existence, to read the Quran with an open heart and open mind. Allah will guide whoever is sincerely seeking His guidance.

So, what do you think? Is Islam true?

  2. Ancient dissection of larger animals would visibly reveal the same thing, and why would Allah choose to prove his existence by giving a lecture on embryos? Do you have answers for this?

    1. The formation of the human embryo requires an electron microscope. What larger mammals are you referring to? Camels? Goats? Please provide evidence for your claim that illiterate bedouin arabs sliced up pregnant mammals to discover the formation of the embryo in line with 21st century science.

Allah isnt proving his existence by explaining the formation of the embryo. This is one of many proofs that ISLAM specifically is true because an illiterate Bedouin from 1400 years ago could never know this.

  3. Thank you for taking the time out to write this article.
Recently I have been struggling with my faith and questioning everything .
When I read the Quran … I find that the majority is based upon fear e.g. if you do this or if you do that you burn in hell.
Everything is always about the man and not women.e.g what man will get in paradise etc etc
Even when it comes to distributing wealth after a parent passes away, the majority of the shares go to the son. How is that fair if the daughters are the ones earning and looking after the parents and the sons are just doing their own thing and not looking after the parents?
Also the Quran and Hadith were not written straight away. As we know from when writing things years later things get misinterpreted. I know the Quran has never been changed, since it was written, but that’s just because Muslims made a point to make certain that things didn’t get changed after it was first collated.

Also Muhammad pbuh used to see Angel Jibrial and the words were given to him. This is what the people believed at the time. Nowadays such a person would be classified as psychotic . What gaurantee do we have this was all real?

I feel guilty questioning all this stuff but I need answers. Since my mum passed away I am questioning everything. Could you refer me to any articles which would answer all my questions?

I apologise if I have offended you in any way.

    1. Assalaamu alaykum sister. I hope you receive this message. I’m typing it on my phone so please excuse my brevity.

“When I read the Quran … I find that the majority is based upon fear e.g. if you do this or if you do that you burn in hell.”

You’re wrong. Every time hell and punishment is mentioned paradise and rewards are mentioned with it.

“Everything is always about the man and not women.e.g what man will get in paradise etc etc”

This is the nature of the arabic language. It doesnt mean its strictly for men only. It’s the same for women. In english when you say “they” theres no gender associated with it but in arabic everything has a gender associated. Even the sun moon trees table etc has gender associated with it. It doesn’t mean the tree is literally a woman.

“Even when it comes to distributing wealth after a parent passes away, the majority of the shares go to the son. How is that fair if the daughters are the ones earning and looking after the parents and the sons are just doing their own thing and not looking after the parents?”

The fault is on the sons not doing their duty. In a Muslim society you can take them to court and have it resolved.

“Also the Quran and Hadith were not written straight away. As we know from when writing things years later things get misinterpreted. I know the Quran has never been changed, since it was written, but that’s just because Muslims made a point to make certain that things didn’t get changed after it was first collated.”

This is not true. The quran was completely written within the lifetime of the prophet PBUH. More importantly it was memorized and those who memorized traveled to different parts of the globe and taught the quran. Yet 1400 years later we still only have one quran and not multiple. This is proof of its preservation. Read the seerah (biography of the prophet pbuh) and read about the 4 rightly guided caliphs.

“Also Muhammad pbuh used to see Angel Jibrial and the words were given to him. This is what the people believed at the time. Nowadays such a person would be classified as psychotic . What gaurantee do we have this was all real?”

If you read the quran you’ll know it’s not the words of a madman. It’s with this quran that there are over a billion muslims. It’s by this quran that Islam spread all across the globe. It’s by the quran that none has been able to make one like it. It’s by this quran that we have guidance for our lives.

Here’s a series by sheikh Uthman on the biography of the prophet. He has a masters in hadith – https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLExCKwROz20EF6lzoi_wvGgTqYkq7e3Of

I would highly recommend you read the whole quran in english from beginning to end with tafsir (exegesis) by ibn kathir. The pdf is available online just google. Or you can buy the physical book. Again Google it. This will answer nearly all your questions.

Why men get more inheritance than women – https://youtu.be/gtlDej8BlJQ

Islam is a religion based on knowledge. We must take time to learn. Our afterlife rests on this. I would recommend you try the international open university (formerly called islamic online university). Here you will gain clarity on your religion.

Keep asking Allah to guide you to the truth and keep working to find the truth. Keep asking Allah to protect you from shaitan and their evil whispers. Asking questions is no problem. If you live in a Muslim community with a local imaam then be sure to talk to him as well. May Allah keep us both on the straight path. I hope I have been of help.

Let me know if you have any other questions insha Allah

      1. MashAllah amazing reply. However, I would like to add some things to it. “The majority of shares go to the son” in how many cases is this? The verse implied or mentioned in these cases is verse 11 of Surah An-Nisa. Below I have verses 11-12 (Since verse 12 is also important here) of An-Nisa in Arabic. I hate when people say “Men get twice as much as women” because this is only one part of the verse. Keep in mind, these two verses are the most detailed verses and we also have to read Tafsirs and rulings to completely understand them. The equivalent to this would be saying “Soccer is about a ball”. This statement technically is true, but tells you absolutely nothing about the rules of soccer, what soccer is, how it’s played, etc. It’s actually in only FOUR cases where men get more than women. In every other case (The vast majority), women get more than men or women get equal to men. Below will be an article by Yaqeen institute where they go more in-depth with this. Keep in mind, even with them getting the majority of inheritance, the son or the male figure is STILL supposed to (by law) take care of the female. Allahu Akbar.

We know The Prophet (Sallalahu Alihi Wa Salam) wasn’t a madman for many reasons. First of all, explain how a 40 year old man just wakes up and convicnes a bunch of desert nomads to conquer the two most powerful empires in the world at the time (The byzantines and the persians) in under a decade with relative ease. Keep in mind, he had no military background whatsoever. The Prophet (Sallalahu Alihi Wa Salam) however did know archery and it’s even sunnah 🙂 There are also other factors, like the extreme poverty he lived in. He battled hunger for 23 years and even said that him and Bilal (RA) went a whole month where they ate nothing but some small scraps. There’s a hadith of Omar (RA) entering his house and crying because The Prophet (Sallalahu Alihi Wa Salam) lived in extremely poor conditions. Please also explain how this man could predict impossible things in the worst of circumstances. Look at the battle of Ahzab for example (the battle of the trench). Seriously, read about it. It’s literally like something out of a movie. Look at the predictions he made throughout his life. Please also explain how a man with no education whatsoever, who couldn’t read, who couldn’t write, was able to create a book like the Quran with the Miracles it has, the prose, the eloquence, predictions, the AMAZING Arabic, etc. Wallahi this can’t be from other than Allah (SWT). Please also explain how he was able to do all this for 23 years (since he got revelations for 22-23 years) without anyone being able to create something like it even until now. And after all of this, explain the HUGE expansion of Islam. I mean, by The Prophet (Sallalahu Alihi Wa Salam)’s death, most of Arabia (modern-day Saudi Arabi, Yemen, and Oman if I remember correctly) to Islam. This is not even half of it sister, wallahi The Prophet (Sallalahu Alihi Wa Salam) was an amazing man and a beloved Prophet 😀 Finally, there are many hadiths where Sahabi like Aisha (RA) Umar (RA) saw Gibreel (AS).

Umar ibn al-Khattab reported: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, one day when a man appeared with very white clothes and very black hair. There were no signs of travel on him and we did not recognize him. He sat down in front of the Prophet and rested his knees by his knees and placed his hands on his thighs. The man said, “O Muhammad, tell me about Islam.” The Prophet said, “Islam is to testify there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to establish prayer, to give charity, to fast the month of Ramadan, and to perform pilgrimage to the House if a way is possible.” The man said, “You have spoken truthfully.” We were surprised that he asked him and said he was truthful. He said, “Tell me about faith.” The Prophet said, “Faith is to believe in Allah, His angels, his books, His messengers, the Last Day, and to believe in providence, its good and its evil.” The man said, “You have spoken truthfully. Tell me about excellence.” The Prophet said, “Excellence is to worship Allah as if you see Him, for if you do not see Him, He surely sees you.” The man said, “Tell me about the final hour.” The Prophet said, “The one asked does not know more than the one asking.” The man said, “Tell me about its signs.” The Prophet said, “The slave girl will give birth to her mistress and you will see barefoot, naked, and dependent shepherds compete in the construction of tall buildings.” Then, the man returned and I remained. The Prophet said to me, “O Umar, do you know who he was?” I said, “Allah and his messenger know best.” The Prophet said, “Verily, he was Gabriel who came to teach you your religion.”

    2. I have read the Quran, but no other Islamic texts. I love my brothers and sisters precisely because they are creations of God Almighty. Your individual search for a relationship with God is the single most important thing you can do in this life, and I commend you for your courage in asking believers for advice. If you are searching, I would encourage a book called “I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist” by Frank Turek and Norman Giesler. It plainly conveys current compelling evidence for believing in God and evidence for trusting historical texts. May God make your paths straight to knowledge of Him.

    3. Assalamualaikum,

I just want to add a few things to the excellent response by the other brothers regarding man get 2 and woman gets 1 share of inheritance. This is because the man is generally the provider in the family. Therefore the man has to also provide his wife his kids and maybe anybody that is blood related under his charge.
And look at the responsibility of a woman. Woman in a society is someone who are depended on the man as in husband to take care of her. So it is her husbands duty to provide for the wife. And let say the wife got a huge share of inheritance, it is like easy money for the husband coz hey why do I need to work so hard? My wife is bringing the dough. You get me? I mean her other male siblings has to work extra hard to provide for the whole family and her husband should work hard to provide for her. The wife or female should not be burdened with the question of where to get food for the everyday life of the family.

It is the wisdom of All Knowing Allah to be fair. Bear in mind 1400 ago, women mostly would not get anything from inheritance.

  4. Salamualaykum. I have some questions I am curious about.

    1) Why is the heart referred in the quran as an organ which can be affected by deeds of sins, which is responsible for emotions, if it is just a muscle. Is it maybe described metaphorically or is it actually more than a muscle? Is the soul maybe kept inside it?

    2) What is Islam’s view on evolution? Does it agree or disagree? If it disagrees, then what is the proof that evolution
    is wrong?

    3) Could some humans possibly live in another planet before the end of the world when all people die on earth?

    1. Wa Alaykum Assalaam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

      1) The simple answer is that it’s referring to faith. I recently attended a good khutbah which dealt with your exact question. Have a listen: https://fb.watch/ajh6H7o1IR/

      2) The Quran and the Sunnah does not mention evolution. What we believe as Muslims is that Allah created Adam from clay/mud/dirt . Adam did not evolve from an animal, and thus humans did not evolve from animals.

“Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, “Be,” and he was.” (3:59)

We shouldn’t have a problem with this as Muslims. Angels are created. They don’t procreate. Allah does what He likes, the way He likes. Whether by natural or supernatural means.

Whether evolution is correct or not doesn’t really matter. If it’s correct, then it’s correct for all the animals, but not for the human being. If it’s incorrect then it’s something else. As Muslims we must believe in the Quran and the authentic Sunnah. Believing the Earth is flat, or that apes evolved from fish, or that dinosaurs existed, or that the universe is 14 billion years old etc; doesn’t matter.

      3) I’ve not read anything in the Quran or Sunnah regarding man living on other planets. I suppose Neil Armstrong could have died on the Moon and been left there. In general the signs of the last day talk about events on Earth, and the resurrection will take place on Earth, so in general man will live on Earth. A small group might live elsewhere, but regardless they will still be resurrected and judged on Earth regardless.

I hope that answers your questions. in the end Allah knows best.

  5. Salamualaykum.

I want to ask something regarding Ramadan. Every time I fast, my chest and my entire face extremely hurt. The only way to stop this pain is to drink small sips of water. If I take sips of water to reduce my pain and eat/drink nothing else, will my fasting still count?

If not, what should I do?

  6. Humanity evolved from primates . There is scientific evident that proves this that’s why humans and primates are physically similar

  7. Just becuase the book got some things right doesn’t mean all of it is right . It could just be a mix of truths and lies

    1. Bring out some lies then. Funny you said lies and not errors. Every science book according to you is filled with lies then, because as science progresses every science book will eventually be found to have false statements.

    1. Since evolution is a fact, please factually prove how life originated on Earth. Was it Aliens? Was it chemicals mixing together randomly bringing about a cell? For life to exist, even the most basic cell requires a set of minimum genes? Who made these minimum genes? This cannot be replicated in a lab? — https://www.csmonitor.com/Science/2016/0327/Scientists-identify-minimum-set-of-genes-needed-for-life

You saying humans evolving from primates is a fact doesn’t make it so. No witnesses to this “fact.” It is an inference based on the available data. It is only a fact for an atheist who assumes there is no God, and that all events can only come from natural means. These are based on assumptions such as the future is a consequence of the past. There is no real way to prove this. It’s simply an assumption. Just because gravity works a certain way doesn’t mean it will definitely continue to work in that way. There is no way to prove it will, and no way to prove it always has. These are just some examples of unprovable assumptions that science needs in order to make their inferences. Just like universe was “factually” static, until it wasn’t. Have a nice day.

      1. There is definitely more evidence provided by science than religion. Evolution for much larger organisms such as humans takes time, however some changes are seen and recorded such as height. Taller humans were much more successful and so modern humans through evolution and natural selection are taller than their historical counterparts. On a broader scale viruses evolve constantly to deal with their environments. It can be viewed as a way to see evolution quick tracked, if you will, visible evidence of it happening. So 1-0 to science.
Regarding your ridiculous point on embryos, mother’s died during pregnancy much more commonly than today. Even 3500 years ago they would have been opened up to reveal a faetus. This would have been done during all stages of pregnancy. There would also have been still births from both humans and animals. So of course humans knew what faetus, looked like. In the Victorian age they knew and had no machines to see inside people so your point is invalid. 2-0 science. Other solar systems have also been seen. No God has ever made an appearance apart from in your magical Quran. Santa has also appeared in books. It doesn’t make him real. 3-0 science. You state that no one can answer all questions with science like how the universe is made. Very true. However that is because it is a question of the infinite, which human intelligence can’t comprehend. It works with religions as well. For example if Allah, God, Odin or whichever God you chose made the world then who made that God? Nothing can be created without a creator. Who made the thing that made the God. It goes on forever so that is a draw. 4-1 to science. Human existence is said to have been for 200,000 years. You say your Quran was made 3500 years ago. So what was there for humans for 196,500 years? Were they all blasphemers? Evil? How did they cope? Well for some part of it that.is recorded they worshipped other Gods, even the sun, which is at least viable. The sun is there to be seen. It.provides life on earth. My point here is that the Quran has only been a speck in time yet you state it is the all powerful, all believable manual for life. It clearly isn’t and is a relatively new addition to human existence. 5-1 Science. I expect this score could get more embarrassing but we have very little time on this.planet, yet another.reason.to enjoy it and not to be slaves to religion that expects you to use your precious life following a barbaric, secular, sexist and judgemental God. Enjoy your life. It will soon be near to an end and hopefully you realise that you should be free.

      2. “There is definitely more evidence provided by science than religion. So 1-0 to science.”

Adaptation was known long before Charles Darwin. That’s what you described. You described HUMANS becoming taller HUMANS. You did not give proof or evidence for a FISH eventually becoming a HUMAN. You also didn’t answer the origin of life.

“Regarding your ridiculous point on embryos, mother’s died during pregnancy much more commonly than today. 2-0 science.”

That’s an assumption. Give evidence. Give historical report that Arabs 1400 years ago knew exactly what an embryo looked like before modern science. Even if you were to, this doesn’t disprove Islam or the Quran keep in mind. The Quran doesn’t say no human knew about the stages of development of the embryo prior to the Quran. My argument is that the Arabs of Makkah and Madina didn’t know. Most couldn’t read or write. They were not scientists. They worshipped idols made of rocks and stones. They were primitive. They believed in superstition that you and I would laugh at. Yet you believe they were scientists who knew how the embryo develops in the womb. You think they were going around cutting open dead women’s stomachs to check for embryos? It’s laughable, and requires proof, which you have not provided. Read up on the development of the embryo.

“Other solar systems have also been seen. No God has ever made an appearance apart from in your magical Quran. Santa has also appeared in books. It doesn’t make him real. 3-0 science. ”

Muslims don’t believe we can see God in this life. No human according to the Quran and Sunnah has seen God. Nice strawman. This truly reveals your ignorance, which is common among atheists. Ignorant yet arrogant. Humble yourself and actually study about the topic you’re arguing about.

“You state that no one can answer all questions with science like how the universe is made. 4-1 to science.”

God is uncreated. The universe, according to your scientists you love dearly, is created (came into existence). Therefore the universe cannot exist perpetually. Allah is the Creator who always existed and will always exist, who created everything besides Himself. That’s the simple answer. What you’re proposing is the problem of infinite regress, which cannot be solved by creatures requiring cause and effect. The Creator is uncaused. He simply is

“Human existence is said to have been for 200,000 years. You say your Quran was made 3500 years ago. So what was there for humans for 196,500 years? Were they all blasphemers? Evil? How did they cope?”

This again proves you haven’t studied Islam at all. You’re completely clueless. The Quran was revealed 1400 years ago not 3500 years ago. Islam means submission. We believe all of creation submits their will (willingly or unwillingly in the case of most humans). No matter how much you desire it, you cannot turn into a bird. You cannot live forever. These are some examples of your body, whether you want it to or not, submitting to the laws of the Creator. Thus Islam has always existed, and all the Prophets of Allah preached Islam. There is no diety worthy of worship except Allah. So what of the people who existed before the Quran was revealed 1400 years ago? They had prophets sent to them such as Jesus, Moses, Abraham, Noah and so on. They were to follow the prophets sent to them.

“Well for some part of it that.is recorded they worshipped other Gods, even the sun, which is at least viable. The sun is there to be seen. It.provides life on earth. My point here is that the Quran has only been a speck in time yet you state it is the all powerful, all believable manual for life. It clearly isn’t and is a relatively new addition to human existence. 5-1 Science.”

LOL. You think it makes more sense to worship the sun, than to worship the Creator of the sun? Yes it is a manual for life. It teaches basic things which keeps the human being from living a disastrous life. It gives basic laws such as, not backbiting, listening to parents except if they order you to do evil, worship Allah alone without any partners, be kind to the neighbors and the wayfarer, spread greetings of peace, smiling as a form of charity, giving wealth and food to those in need, staying away from alcohol, staying away from fornication and adultery, staying away from unhealthy foods and poisons, praying 5 times a day which reminds us of our purpose on earth, living life to please our Creator rather than just to acquire wealth that goes to someone else after you die anyways, and much much more. It’s a manual for how to live that billions utilize and many more atheists such as yourself could use. The Creator guides those who are humble and worthy of guidance. May Allah soften your heart and guide you to the truth.

I follow Islam because it brings me joy. I see the false joy atheists and non religious people such as yourself have. Watching Netflix for hours upon hours, getting drunk, sleeping with random strangers, crowding at football games yelling for teams you don’t know, for a game that doesn’t really matter. I was raised in the USA, and both my parents converted to Islam. Most of my family is non-Muslim. I know both sides. You only know your side and are close minded, believing whatever you’ve been spoon fed from the media, without studying Islam whatsoever.

I thank you for the comment. It brings more traffic to this site, which will result in more people being guided to Islam. Much like this person – https://youtu.be/piZ4PMgGlHg

May Allah guide you before it’s too late.

    2. Gonna have to disagree with ya on this one. Micro-evolution, sure. Macro-evolution is certainly not proven and has NEVER been observed. Its aggravating that modern education ignores the evidence and lacks teaching discernment. Please look these up for yourself. Darwinism is secular religion masquerading around as science. And I will give you 6 reasons why “natural selection” why it cannot be true. 1) Genetic Limits – we still have apes and no amount of breeding will ever spit out a human from 2 apes, 2) Irreducible complexity – try to slightly modify your car engine with a different spark plug and see if it drives. Even Darwin accepted this defeat, 3) Cyclical Change – yes animals have been observed to “evolve slightly” for a given environment but the also “devolve” back when conditions revert., 4) No viability of transitional forms – where is that missing link again?, and 5) DNA – Just because Human DNA is similar to primates (as high as 95%) doesn’t prove ancestral relationship. It does however, point to an intelligent designer. Also the genetic similarities between humans and mice is about 90%, again this is evidence for an intelligent design not random natural selection, and finally 6) The fossil record does not show evidence of macro-evolution.

  8. I appreciate your work very much!

Just have one small question: It is said that Idris (as) was a very early prophet who lived in the just after the time of Adam. It is also said that he lived in the city of Babylon, and then went to Eygpt. But how did he go or stay in those cities even though both the civilizations of Babylon and Eygpt existed way after the time of Idris?

    1. ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُه

Keep in mind that our main Islamic sources are Quran, established (saheeh) Hadith, and consensus of the early generation. Anything outside of that is basically conjecture. I don’t know where you heard your information from, but if it wasn’t from those three sources then it’s not very reliable. It’s completely possible he was in the region of Egypt and Babylon prior to the locations receiving the name Egypt and Babylon. As far as we know Adam AS may have traveled to North America, South America, Australia etc. Will we say how could he have gone to Australia before the nation of Australia exist? Of course not, because the land that we now call Australia existed.

      And Allah knows best.

      1. Also, I have heard that writing was invented by Idris. But wasn’t writing invented much later in Babyloniya in 3300 B.C? By the way, I’ve also heard that Idris (as) was the first to start building the pyramids. Is this Information authentic (true)? Or is it based on weak sources or hadith?

      2. My previous reply already answers your questions. Go and learn Islam. Don’t base your Islam on “I heard.” Get a basic Seerah book, get a basic tafseer of the Quran (Tafsir As-Sa’di), and get stories of the prophets by Ibn Kathir since you seem interested in that. All these can be purchased or downloaded online. Start studying, so that you can have knowledge of Islam from sources, and not from “I heard.”

And if you don’t like to read, then there are many online video resources. You can study at International Open University (iou.edu.gm), you can study with Sheikh Uthman ibn farooq on Mesjid Ribat YouTube channel, and you can find reliable people of knowledge in your local area to learn from as well. The point is go and learn. Not just you but all of us need to do this, so that our knowledge isn’t based on “I heard.”

I’m not a scholar so you shouldn’t ask me. I don’t recall hearing or reading what you’re referring to. But even if I heard it or read it, if it’s not sourced from Quran, Saheeh Hadith, consensus of the early generation, then it’s merely an opinion. And in general when we are dealing with history, our knowledge of history changes as new discoveries are found. Perhaps now we assume writing was invented in Babylonia, but later on we discover that it was invented much earlier. For us to even know when writing was discovered based on archaeological research, the writings themselves would have to be preserved. You could write many books, but after 3000 years, if none of your writings remained then they would say you didn’t write anything. The record of your existence could be gone after a couple of hundred years, does that mean you never existed? But historically essentially it would mean that. This is the nature of history. Rather than saying writing was invented in Babylonia in 3300 B.C., they should say we “believe” writing was invented at that time based on archaeological research but we really don’t know whether or not it was actually invented earlier.

The point is, like I’ve been saying, Unless it’s found in the preserved Quran, the saheeh Hadith, the consensus of the early generation, then it’s not really reliable. I hope my answer is clear.

        And Allah knows best.

  9. You’ve got good intentions, but I think you’re making assumptions yourself. Where does the Qur’an say, I am authentic because I talk about embryos? It doesn’t. You are saying that. The Qur’an does not offer scientific proof, because quite frankly, it is beyond science. Evolution is a fact (current status of scientific understanding) and denying evolution blanketly is doing a disservice to the religion. Also, the Quran does not talk about the big bang. Everthing was split asunder does not imply the big bang THEORY. Why try to use Science to prove Islam? Islam is largely a matter of belief, in the existence of God, his Angels etc… if it was provable by science, it would cease to be a faith or belief and become accepted fact (like the pythogoras theorem). So it’s meaningless to try to prove something that in itself calls you to accept it. Also, what’s the point in answering every question and finishing it with “Allah knows best?”. If you don’t know, why bother answering it. If you do answer have the guts to stand behind your answer intead of trying to absolve yourself of responsibility for the answer you provided. Did the prophet say, this is so and so… but…errrrgh… Allah knows Best?

    1. I’ll assume you’re Muslim and say Assalaamu alaykum.

“You’ve got good intentions, but I think you’re making assumptions yourself. Where does the Qur’an say, I am authentic because I talk about embryos? It doesn’t. You are saying that. The Qur’an does not offer scientific proof, because quite frankly, it is beyond science.”

“We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their own selves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Quran) is the truth”
      [Fussilat 41:53]

“And indeed We showed him (Fir‘awn (Pharaoh)) all Our Signs and Evidences, but he denied and refused”
      [Ta-Ha 20:56]

” Evolution is a fact (current status of scientific understanding) and denying evolution blanketly is doing a disservice to the religion.”

When did I deny evolution? I deny humans evolving from apes, because Allah explains He created Adam from Turab/dirt/mud/clay, not from an ape. How can you say evolution is a FACT and then add “based on the current status of scientific understanding.” Maybe you don’t know what “fact” means. Evolution for animals may or may not be true. I’m a skeptic in that regard. Evolution for humans (ie humans evolving from non humans) I completely deny however. I don’t worship science, but rather the Creator of science, Allah the Most High, the All Knowing.

“Also, the Quran does not talk about the big bang. ”

I don’t need science to prove Islam for myself, but for people who are atheist, or have made science their Lord, it is helpful to show the different things related to the world around us mentioned in the Quran, which so happens to coincide with modern day science. A scripture that is 1400 years old, would normally understand the world based on 7th century understanding, but that is not the case with the Quran. How could a man in the desert know these things? That is a proof for many. You might not like it, but Alhamdulilah you’re not the judge and jury.

“Also, what’s the point in answering every question and finishing it with “Allah knows best?”. If you don’t know, why bother answering it. If you do answer have the guts to stand behind your answer intead of trying to absolve yourself of responsibility for the answer you provided. Did the prophet say, this is so and so… but…errrrgh… Allah knows Best?”

The scholars of Islam answer it in such a way. The Prophet PBUH received revelation from Allah. He didn’t make mistakes in the religion except it was immediately corrected. I’m not a prophet, therefore I can make errors. It would be arrogant of me to assume I am free from mistakes, therefore, in the end Allah knows best.

      And Allah knows best 😀.

    2. The Qur’an inferred about the Bing Bang by informing us that about the expansion of the universe (which imply that the universe initially came about from a singularity and then expand outwards).

“We built the universe with ˹great˺ might, and We are certainly expanding ˹it˺.” (51:47)

  10. Masha Allah, when I read your blog, I felt incredibly happy and grateful to be a muslim, you just filled my heart of joy and faith. I truly can’t describe how I feel while writing this comment, but I just wanted to make understand that what you did is Amazing, you are an amazing person by taking your time an making this blog❤, may Allah give you just the best in this life and of course, may he grant us Jannatal Firdaws, InshaAllah

  11. jazaka allaho khayr i wanted to ask if it’s okay that i have used ur beautiful article on private site if u dont mind ?? may allah bless you

  12. I am not muslim, but I dearly love learning about the religion. And if I were to ever believe in anything religion it would 100% be islam, I am very interested in reading the Quran. I loved reading through this

    1. Definitely read the Quran! Do research and make a decision. Life is short. It’s obvious that there’s more to it, than just living and dying. We definitely have a Creator. We didn’t just pop into existence from nothing. This creator created us with a purpose. To be the best people we can by following the rules of this Creator.

Youtube One message foundation. There’s a lot of helpful videos there.

In any case. If you were to do anything, you should call upon the one Creator who isn’t a man or an animal. Call upon this Creator and ask to be guided to the truth. Do this sincerely and for sure guidance will come to you and it’ll be up to you whether you’ll accept it or not.

All the best on your journey. May the Creator guide us all to the Truth.

  13. Asalam-u-alykum!

I am a born Muslim yet I am at the verge of losing my belief in Islam. I have a very typical question that drives me away from Islam, and that is; If we say that there is a creator of this entire universe, who is eternal, came from nothing, always existed. Isn’t it equal to the belief that this universe itself always existed?
I struggle with belief now. I feel, what if there is nothing after death? We don’t have an iota if the evidence regarding the afterlife, except the scripture. How do we make out brains turn to something which we have no evidence of?
    I feel lost.
How do we believe that Qur’an is the God’s book?
Why don’t we have any evidence of Allah’s existence?
I may not be accurately asking my queries, but I hope you understand where I stand. I am at the borderline. Kindly help me untangle the things?

    1. Wa alaykum Assalaam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

      Bismillah,

I will insha Allah try to answer your questions. Before I do, I would like to give you some advice. First of all your low eemaan (faith) is due to 1 of 3 things. Either you lack knowledge in the religion, you are not practicing the religion by staying away from sins and doing more good deeds, or both. My advice to you would be to turn to Allah in your prayers, begging him to keep you firm on Islam (the submission to Allah alone). Even if I fully answer your questions if you don’t fix these problems I’m highlighting then your issue will not be resolved. Go to a local mosque and talk to your local imaam. Join classes. Buy books. Listen to beneficial lectures. Make an effort to help yourself, and turn to Allah constantly.

“If we say that there is a creator of this entire universe, who is eternal, came from nothing, always existed. Isn’t it equal to the belief that this universe itself always existed?”

No it is not. The universe has no mind. The universe isn’t eternal. The universe is ever expanding which indicates it had a beginning. The universe has laws. Where did these laws come from? The universe is designed. Where did the design come from? You are part of the universe, are you eternal? Did you create yourself? The universe factually did not always exist, and will not always exist, so it is nothing like the belief in a Creator who always existed and will always exist.

“Or were they created by nothing, or are they ˹their own˺ creators? Or did they create the heavens and the earth? In fact, they have no firm belief ˹in Allah.” (52: 35-36)

“I feel, what if there is nothing after death? We don’t have an iota if the evidence regarding the afterlife, except the scripture. How do we make out brains turn to something which we have no evidence of?”

The article that you’re responding to, is full of proofs for Islam. So I don’t know why you would disbelieve in the Quran. A book that has remained unchanged, without error, memorized by millions, from the Creator of everything, not the words of man, with observable proofs, logical and rational proofs. I would advise you to read the Quran in a language you are comfortable with while also reading a tafseer (explanation) alongside it. Tafseer ibn Kathir, and Tafseer As-Sa’di are highly recommended.

I’ll give a logical reason for the afterlife as well though. First off when a mass murderer kills a large number of people, but the worst that can happen to him is be killed once. We internally feel this is unjust. Where did this feeling come from? Or if the criminal commits suicide before justice can happen, don’t even non-Muslims feel he escaped justice? These feelings indicate that we internally know that true justice cannot be served on this person in this life. Also if there’s no afterlife, then the righteous person and the criminal are the same. There would be no reason to live a righteous life except fear of government or societal punishments. It would be more rational to cheat lie and steal your way to the top to become rich. But when we look at the rich and famous, they are constantly drinking alcohol and doing drugs due to depression. They have a yearning for something that can’t be fulfilled in this life. Yet the Muslim doesn’t have this issue. His hole has been filled by worshipping His Creator. Alhamdulilah.

The fact that the best way for a human being to live is in accordance to Islam is alone enough proof for Islam. How could a man in the desert who could neither read nor write, develop a book and a religion with the best morals for all of mankind in every sphere of life. Of course he didn’t produce it, but rather Allah revealed it to him and guided him in that respect. This itself is a miracle subhana Allah.

“Why don’t we have any evidence of Allah’s existence?”

Why are you assuming we don’t have any evidence for Allah? If there were footsteps in a desert and no man in sight, wouldn’t you know that a man or woman certainly was there. Something was definitely there. If there was a Honda Accord in the middle of no where wouldn’t it mean someone made it and put it there? How did life come from a sterile universe? If life can come from non living things, then why can’t it be replicated in a lab? Where’s the proof that your great great great great grand father existed? Do you know where his grave is? Do you know his name? Do you have a picture of him? You know he existed because you exist, which means he must have existed. That’s your evidence. The fact that the universe exists, with all its diversity, with all the planets, stars, and galaxies, all working according to rules and laws, is proof that Allah exists. Every human society in recorded history believed in a God or gods. There are no atheist civilizations. When the plane is about to crash, or the person is about to drown, they call out to Allah no matter what their religion is. Even a baby who’s crying screams and looks upward. Why is it looking up?

The point is there’s plenty of evidence for Allah and Islam. If you want to be a Muslim and practice Islam, and worship your Creator, then do so. Allah will help you in that. If you want to leave Islam and follow your desires and have a miserable life in this world and the next, then do so. It’s up to you.

I would also say that you shouldn’t let disbelievers tell you what you should and shouldn’t believe. Everyone worships something. If you don’t worship Allah, then you’ll just worship something else. You’ll worship your job, your money, your love interest, your celebrity/influencers, or yourself. Allah created you to worship Him alone. If you don’t do that then you’ll forever worship many things, live miserably, and be punished eternally. So like I said in the beginning. Turn to Allah. Do good deeds. Stay away from evil deeds. Increase your knowledge. Read the Quran with Tafseer. Talk to your local imaam. If you value your faith, then you’ll take whatever measures necessary to preserve it.

Here’s some good videos you can watch related to your issue I believe:
      https://youtu.be/WiJj-hhcU3A
      https://youtu.be/UmkiFAzdpAI
      https://youtu.be/SdN2SFqQch8

May Allah help and guide us all and keep us firm on His religion. May Allah forgive us for our shortcomings and grant us the highest level of Jannah.

  14. why only Islam?
I mean I know that Islam is so authentic and clear and secular but that doesn’t mean that is the God’s book?

Please help me find the truest way out there. I don’t know if Islam or anything.

I want to feel relaxed, at least for a moment. Asalam-u-alykum

    Jazakallah Khairan.

Thank you so much for all your guidance. I agree that I have lost my way to something truest ever. I have lost the belief and I totally am not able to help my mind tackle this issue. I have many questions in my mind that I don’t think I am able to put up.
Well, as you suggested me to read and learn Quran along with Tafseer. I don’t have the key to do it, as I no longer am able to make up my mind to believe that it is the word of Allah. The proofs that you have provided in this regard don’t actually help me believe the same. I don’t know if I should say it but I am sorry about how I feel. Trust me, I am going through something really terrible because of this. I am depressed, I have got anxiety issues after losing my belief in Allah.
I am looking here and there for help.
The very first question I have is; If there is someone who created everything that exists. He created us. We are helpless. We have no power over anything, not even on our own selves. If someone really gracious and magnificent is creating every one of us, why does He want us to submit to Him? Like He can turn our hearts to Himself at the very first place. he is the owner of everything. Why earlier there have been evidences and miracles and now there is no such thing? Why was Quran only revealed in Arabic language? Why does God want us to be like slaves, anyways we are helpless. Why would someone really great need our obedience/worship? We didn’t choose our life, why would we be punished for so called sins? I have many more questions.

I agree with your statement that we always do worship some or the other thing, but

    Thanks.

    1. Wa alaykum assalaam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

      Jazanna wa iyakum.

The answers to your questions are in the Quran. Like I said you should read it. If you don’t want to, then that’s your decision. We will all be judged for our own deeds. If a doctor came to you with a cure, and all you had to do was take it, why wouldn’t you take it? The cure for your problems is by reading the Quran and praying to Allah who created you. Nobody is going to force you. Like you said, you have anxiety and depression. The cure for those are in reading the Quran, but again nobody will force you to do it. Take responsibility for yourself, and help yourself, and Allah will surely help you.

      Allah says in the Quran:
“And whoever has taqwa (God conscience) of Allah – He will make for him a way out (2) And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent. (Quran: 65 1-2)

“Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” (Quran 13: 11)

I cannot say this enough. You need to help yourself and ask Allah to help you. I can’t solve your internal issues. You need to gather knowledge, and practice Islam. I can’t make you do the things you need to do, in order to fix your problem. You must do them yourself. So start doing it.

May Allah grant us forgiveness, guidance, steadfastness, security, prosperity and peace.

  15. I found this information interesting. I have been studying Islam to understand it better.
However it struck me as I was reading that many of these are similar to the claims of Christianity. I counted 8 out of 10 of these reasons are the same or very similar to claims for the truth of the Bible and Christianity.
For example Christians also claim the Bible is the word of God and that it says so in it multiple times. Christians also claim that the Bible is without error (except for some errors in translation in past centuries) and that was preserved that way by God himself.
Thay also say the Bible contains proofs of the existence of God and confirms the existence of angels, demons, resurrection and judgement, etc.
They point also to numerous fulfillments of prophecy by many different prophets, not just one, both of ancient Israel and Jesus as well.

And I could go on with other details of the similarities in claims as to which is the true religion.
How do you explain this? How is one to really know which religion,Islam or Christianity,is the true religion of God??

    1. Thanks for reading the article. Of course every religion will claim they’re upon the truth. Would people accept the religion or even want to learn about it, if the religion or holy scripture itself said it was fabricated, written by men and full of errors? So a book stating that it’s the truth or from God is not evidence in and of itself, but if the book never even claims to be from God, then it’s not worth opening for guidance from God to begin with. I hope you get that point.

I brought you evidence. It’s on you to research and make up your own mind. Look at the evidence the different religions bring, and weigh them yourself. Of course some claims will be similar. So what? If there’s two politicians, won’t they both claim to be the best president for the government. Won’t they both claim to lower taxes, and improve society? Does that mean they’re the same? I again hope you see this point.

How is a person to know which religion is the truth? They must use their brain that God gave them. They must take time to research and analyze the different religions and their claims. From my research the claims of Christianity are contradictory and wrong, and the claims of Islam are strong and correct. I’ve provided you with 10 proofs plus references. A person who wants guidance must ask God, the Creator of everything, for guidance. They must be sincere in searching for the truth and accept the truth when it comes to them. A person who is sincerely searching for the correct way of life, and asks God for help, will most definitely be guided eventually. So keep searching.

If you want me to write dedicated articles on why Christianity and Judaism are not the religions of God, I can do that (God willing). Let me know. The main reason Christianity and Judaism is false is that their book isn’t from God. God doesn’t make mistakes and the bible is full of them. You can easily google them yourself. Type numerical contradictions in the bible. Did Judas hang himself or fall headlong (Mathew 27:5 and Acts 1:18)? Did he spend the silver or throw it away? There are numerous contradictions. Check out this video. It has a Christian scholar being questioned about some of these issues and contradictions. It fully exposes the falsehood of Christianity – https://youtu.be/ewsYjc5cwtA?si=7RZWPn4QgitUGcZ0

In terms of Judaism, just the fact that again the old testament has mistakes and contradictions. For instance it says none can see God and live (Exodus 33:20), yet elsewhere God supposedly came down as a man and wrestled Jacob and lost! (Genesis 32: 22-32) In one verse it says God doesn’t lie or repent (Numbers 23:19), then in another verse it says God repented (1 Samuel 15:10-11). Also the idea that you can’t be a real Jew unless you’re born a Jew is racist. I’ve never met or seen a Jewish person trying to convert people to Judaism. They are happy with their belief and happy to keep others away from it. It’s an exclusive religion. They believe they are the chosen people of God, by birth, and not by choice. That is a racist belief to be completely honest.

Anyways, at the end of the day you have to do your own homework. Analyze the claims and the evidence, and use your God given brain to decide which one is reliable and which one is false. Have a nice day. May the one true God guide you and me.

  16. Refuting every argument:

#1 The Quran Claims to be The Word of God – So what? The bible also claims the same thing. If you open up the Qur’an to Sura 5 titled “The Gospel of Jesus: Guidance and Light,” you will read the following:*

[5:46] And in their footsteps We sent Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming the Law that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel: therein was guidance and light, and conformation of the Law that had come before him: a guidance and an admonition to those who fear Allah. [5:47] Let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah has revealed, they are (no better than) those who rebel. [Emphasis mine.] First, take note that the Qur’an actually says that Allah is responsible for sending Jesus and the “the Gospel,” referring to what we call the New Testament. Each was given to confirm “the Law,” referring to the Old Testament. In describing “the Gospel” we are told that it contains “guidance and light.” From just this verse, I think we are meant to conclude that God has multiple revelations and that these revelations can be used to confirm each other. For example, the New Testament confirms the Old Testament.

Second, in the very next sentence the Qur’an affirms that “The People of the Gospel,” referring specifically to Christians, should “judge by what Allah has revealed therein.” That is to say, Christians should judge by what’s in “the Gospel.” Here the author, Mohammed, is inviting Christians to judge his words by the New Testament. He believes that “the Gospel” and his words, the Qur’an, are in agreement. This makes perfect sense in light of the verse we just looked at. In essence, Mohammed is saying that just as the Gospel confirms the Law, which came before it, the Gospel will confirm the Qur’an, which is coming after it.

See the problem? The qur’an contradicts the Gospel which confirms the Torah therefore the Qur’an can logically be assumed to be false by its very own words.

#2 The Preservation of The Quran – Preservation means nothing if it’s not true. Essentially, it’s saying “The Quran is true because the Quran says it’s true.” Even if the Quran has been preserved, it doesn’t necessarily prove its divine origin. Many ancient texts have been preserved over time, but that doesn’t mean their content is true or divine. Using preservation as an argument without addressing criticisms or scholarly debates about the Quran’s history is being dishonest with yourself.

#3 The Formation of the Embryo– Cherry-picking a few verses about embryology ignores other verses in the Quran that might be more difficult to reconcile with modern science. For example, the Quran describes the creation of humans from a clot of blood (alaq), which is not scientifically accurate. The descriptions are vague and open to interpretation. Quran 23:13-14: “Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators.”

This passage outlines stages of development but the descriptions are general and not detailed enough to be considered a precise scientific account. The term “clinging clot” (mudghah) is also HEAVILY debated in its translation and interpretation. Even if they did outline the basic stages of development, there were existing medical traditions in ancient Greece, India, and the Middle East that had some knowledge of embryology.

#4 Millions of people have memorized it – Okay, and? This is a very poor argument. The bible has 10x the amount of words that the Quran has. Memorizing something does not mean it to be true. This argument can be seen as an appeal to popularity, which is a logical fallacy. Just because millions of people have memorized a text does not inherently prove its divine origin or truth. There are many religious texts and works of literature that have been memorized by large numbers of people, but this fact alone does not make them divine or even true.

#5 Haman Mentioned by Name – The Quranic mention of Haman is brief and lacks the context provided in other religious texts. In the Quran, Haman is portrayed as a high-ranking minister in the court of the Pharaoh who is involved in the construction of a tower to reach the heavens (Quran 28:6, 28:38, 40:36-37). This (surprise surprise) correlates with the story of the biblical Haman who served under the Persian king Ahasuerus in the Book of Esther.

#6 The Challenge to Produce One Like it – There have been individuals and groups who claimed to have produced something similar to the Quran. However, these attempts have generally been dismissed by Muslims as falling short in terms of style, eloquence, and content. As a Muslim you obviously wouldn’t admit if something did meet the bar. It’s all very subjective. The Quran’s language and style reflect the culture and linguistic norms of that time, not of something completely different and divine.

#7 Observational Proofs – “Have We not made the earth a resting place? (6) And the mountains as stakes?” Quran [78: 6-7] Verses like these are vague and open to interpretation. Christ made similar claims about the proof about his Father’s works are all around you in nature. In fact, Christ made those claims first, nearly 600 years beforehand.

#8 Not Only a Religion, But a Way of Life – Again, this is circular logic. “Islam is true because Islam says it’s true.” This provides zero evidence for Islam and it’s ideas. Buddhist Monks live a certain way and they have a set way to live with little leeway. This does not mean Buddhism is the true path to salvation; Buddhists know this and don’t actively claim that their rules equal it’s validity. What constitutes a “comprehensive way of life” is subjective and varies among individuals and cultures. One person’s idea of an ideal way of life might differ significantly from another’s. The argument also focuses on the positive aspects of Islamic teachings while potentially ignoring problematic or outdated elements. For example, some teachings in the Quran and Hadiths conflict with modern values of gender equality, human rights, and freedom of expression.

#9 Quranic Proof for God – Using gaps in scientific knowledge or understanding as evidence for God (e.g., complexity in biology or the universe) is an argument from ignorance. Just because something is not fully understood doesn’t mean it’s evidence for a divine creator. What seems like evidence for God to a Muslim might not hold the same weight for someone from a different religious or cultural background. Quranic proof for God’s existence relies on verses that point to nature, personal experiences, and the uniqueness of the Quran, all of which is subjective.

#10 Prophecies of The Prophet Muhammad – Muslims focus on events that seem to match the prophecy while ignoring contradictory or unfulfilled aspects. “Women will increase in number and men will decrease in number so much so that fifty women will be looked after by one man.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 81) According to the world’s statistics, there are more men than women in the world today. The United Nations estimates the number of men to approximately 3,776,294,273 while women are estimated to be approximately 3,710,295,643. (As of 2017.) This is one of many. You cannot focus on vague prophecies “coming true” and ignore all the others.

‘..and when you see barefoot, naked, destitute shepherds competing in constructing tall buildings.’ (Famous hadith Jibreel)

The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world since 2008. However does this one example match what Muhammad said?

    Building tall buildings? Yes (One)

    Barefoot? Nope

    Naked? Nope

    Destitute? Nope

    Shepherds? Nope

I truly hope this opens your eyes. Our Lord Jesus Christ has so much mercy and so much love. I wish the absolute best for you.

    1. Where does the bible claim to be the word of God? Christians don’t even claim the bible is the word of God. They claim it’s the “inspired” word of God. Meaning anonymous authors were supposedly inspired to write what’s in the bible. Which bible are we talking about? The catholic bible or the protestant bible? They don’t have the same number books. Not to mention the long list of contradictions contained in the bible.

The verses you quoted from the Quran are in reference to the true followers of Jesus prior to prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him (pbuh). So it’s not referring to you. When it mentions gospel, it’s talking about the gospel Muslims believe was given by God to Jesus pbuh. Which btw doesn’t exist in the bible of today. You have the bible according to Mathew Luke and John, but not according to Jesus. What’s Mathew, Luke and John’s last names btw? Or it doesn’t matter who supposedly wrote down God’s words?

If the bible is “true” but it’s not preserved, ie it’s been changed, then even if it was true, it no longer is. You see where preservation is important? We as Muslims believe the original Tawrah and Injeel given to Moses PBUH and Jesus PBUH were true. But because they were not preserved, what people call today the tawrah and injeel is in fact not that. You saying many ancient texts were preserved is interesting considering the bible isn’t one of those preserved ancient texts.

In terms of the description of the embryo mentioned in the Quran, it’s accurate according to scientists. You’re not a scientist so what do I care what you think. Also the arabs weren’t scientists going around studying human or animal embryology, so your assumption that they somehow discovered this on their own, or cared to read texts from the romans or persians about that is laughable.

Millions of people memorizing a text, claiming to be from God where it states that the “quran is easy to remember so will anyone remember?” is a strong proof. It’s not an appeal to popularity. Christianity is more “popular” than Islam currently. Harry Potter is the most popular fiction book. But are there millions of people who have memorized any single harry potter book, word for word? Is there any Christian who’s memorized just the new testament word for word? It’s not an appeal to popularity, that’s a strawman. The argument is that Allah said it’s easy to remember, and lo and behold millions have memorized it. Millions all across the world, most of whom don’t even speak Arabic fluently. This shows the love and devotion Muslims have above all other religions and belief systems, that they would actually memorize the text sent by God. If you don’t believe your text is sent by God then I can see why you wouldn’t care to memorize it.

The Quran correlating to the bible means nothing. The Quran isn’t based on the bible. If it was it would have the same errors the bible has, which it doesn’t.

Nobody producing a book like the Quran isn’t subjective. The Quran was and is the number 1 proof of Islam. The Arabs became Muslim because of the Quran. If it was just like any other book, then it wouldn’t have affected them in that way. Also if it was just like any other book, then many would have competed against it, and in fact there were those who tried in the time of the Prophet PBUH and failed according to their own followers. Musaylamah al kathab claimed to be a prophet during the time of the Prophet PBUH and recited some lines of poetry to compete with the Quran. His own followers laughed at him. Writing a book that is as popular, memorized by millions, and followed by billions is not subjective in the least. If you think you can do it then do it. And if you can’t alone, then gather all the people you like.

Islam isn’t competing with Christ. Muslims follow Jesus more than Christians. Jesus didn’t celebrate Christmas or Easter. Jesus didn’t wear a cross around his neck. Jesus prayed by putting his face on the ground like Muslims. Jesus prayed to the father, which he calls “the Only True God.” Jesus didn’t eat pork. Jesus fasted. Jesus’ mother wore the hijab and was modest. Muslims are closer to Jesus than Christians and we love him more. No Muslim can be a Muslim without believing in Jesus as a Messenger sent by Allah.

Islam being a whole way of life is a strong argument. Muslims believe God created man with wisdom. That Allah wouldn’t create us and leave us to our own devices. He would send guidance for how best to live our lives, and that is what Islam brings. It gives detailed guidance in all areas of life. This is not subjective. It’s simply factual. The fact you don’t know about it, just proves your own ignorance on the matter. Study up. The teachings of Islam have remained unchanged unlike Christianity which changes it’s morals with society.

It honestly seems like you used chatgpt to answer for you. Your responses are hilarious. Was man made from nothing, or did man create himself? It’s a simple logical question. Either man always existed, man came into existence from nothing, or man came into existence from something. This is a great argument that is used 1400 years later in modern philosophical debates.

The hadith you brought forth regarding women, has not happened yet, so what’s your point? Did you think the hadith was specific to 2024??? Are you stating that it’s impossible for this hadith to ever come true? Do you claim to know the future?

The Arabs of the UAE were bedoin barefooted naked and destitute Arabs. After oil was found and became valuable, they no longer remained barefooted and so on and eventually built these tall buildings. Was that too hard to understand?

I like how you brought no evidence for Christianity except to say “Lord Jesus Christ has mercy and love.” Typical of a Christian. Bring some proof for Christianity next time. I truly hope you don’t rely on chatgpt to answer your questions for you, and I truly hope you’ll actually read the Quran which you clearly have never done. May Allah guide you to Islam.
