Consistency

Random_10_small

Narrated `Aisha:
The Prophet (ﷺ) was asked, “What deeds are loved most by Allah?” He said, “The most regular constant deeds even though they may be few.” He added, ‘Don’t take upon yourselves, except the deeds which are within your ability.”

This has a profound meaning and implication on our daily lives. It’s not about doing sporadic things all of a sudden, but about consistently doing something, even small, every single day.

Imagine you want to become a good basketball player. You don’t just play really hard for 1 or 2 days, and then magically become Michael Jordan. You have to put in the work each and every single day, and eventually you’ll get there.

Consistency.

Giving up is easy. It’s so much easier to do nothing than it is to do something. And not everyone has the ability to stubbornly charge ahead into the unknown. But those that do, know that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Those that do, know what reward awaits them if they just keep trying.

So let us continue to perform good deeds, no matter how small or few, every single day so that we can earn the pleasure of Allah. It can be remembering to make athkar after prayer, or being extra kind to our parents, lowering our gaze and so on. May Allah help us, and accept it from us.
