Belief in Allah is the most important of all the Pillars of Faith. Without belief in Allah, a person has nothing. Across nearly all cultures and all times the belief in God has existed. Allah gives us this pure belief in him, but unfortunately, in most cases, it becomes dirty due to our parents and society. The Prophet PBUH said:

“Every child is born with the pure nature. It is his parents who then change him to a Jew, a Christian, or a pagan.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

Allah says in the Quran:

ذَٰلِكُمُ اللَّـهُ رَبُّكُمْ ۖ لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ فَاعْبُدُوهُ ۚوَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَكِيلٌ

“That is Allah, your Lord. There is no (true) god other than Him. He is the Creator of everything, so worship Him. And He also takes care of everything.” (Al Anaam 6:102)

Belief in Allah has 3 parts:

  1. Allah is the Creator and Master of everything. He is the true Lord.
  2. Allah has the best and greatest qualities. The beauty and greatness of things we see is proof of His greatness.
  3. No one deserves our complete love and obedience except Allah. We need to obey Him and serve Him in the best way. We need to worship Him as He tells us. He is our only true God.

A person without this belief is lost. Like being in the middle of nowhere with darkness all around him, to the point he can’t even see his own hands. He can never truly be happy, because he doesn’t know who he is, why he’s there, or what he should do.

A person who knows Allah is clear about his purpose in this life. He has an amazing flashlight showing him the path he needs to take. He can be truly happy and at peace because he knows his goal and how to achieve it.

Once a person truly understands the 3 parts to the belief in Allah he will be at peace. These 3 parts will be explained insha Allah in future posts.
